I had cause to replace a 7 yr old Newlec fan that was rattling like crazy and SWMBO wanted something 'prettier'. The EnviroVent in silver is certainly that. On paper, it is more powerful than the fan it replaced and subjectively, I think that is the case. It is undoubtedly much quieter (even compared to the house's other Newlecs that haven't developed a death rattle). The run-on timer seems to be set to approx. zero when delivered(!) and adjusting the tiny little screw is an absolute pig of a job. I suggest doing that before you screw the fan to the ceiling. The wiring route is strange - there is a hole that the cable *must* pass through, but it is miles from the terminal block, so I had a strip a load more outer cable away, to give room for the grille to click on. The fan has an internal red LED to show it is on, but you can't see it with the grill fitted, so it seems pointless. The EnviroVent is described as having "Backdraught Flaps" - which turns out to be a very thin piece of cellophane, that I mistook as packaging! Once removed, it will not go back on. In any case, it's a bit "low-tech". Finally, the EnviroVent didn't come with a cable tie to attach the outlet pipe, which struck me as mean, at this price point. It needs to be about 320mm long and I didn't have anything that length, so had to connect two together.
