A cooker switch is the 45A double pole switch that isolates an electric cooker, oven or hob from the mains. Our cooker switches include cooker control units with a built-in 13A socket, plain 45A double pole switches with neon indicators, and 45A cooker connection units, from BG Nexus, BG Evolve and Knightsbridge.
Cooker Switch with Socket or Without
A cooker switch with socket (a cooker control unit) combines the 45A switch with a 13A plug socket for a kettle or small appliance on the same plate. A plain 45A cooker switch saves space and is the usual choice when the socket is fitted separately.
Cooker control unit: 45A DP switch, 13A socket and neon
45A DP switch, single plate: compact cooker or shower isolator
45A DP switch, double plate: the larger, traditional cooker switch
Cooker connection unit: the cable outlet behind the cooker
Cooker Switches by Finish
White moulded: curved edge and square edge
Metal: brushed steel, black nickel, matt black (BG Nexus)
Screwless: satin brass, matt black, matt blue (BG Evolve)
A cooker switch should be mounted within 2 metres of the cooker and must not be behind it. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician. See our cooker switch installation guide.
